Empire Brewfest

To begin my travelness of the blog: Excessive drinking! rather, "sampling" as the website purports. But in reality this event is far better than any other fests or bests of syracuse, food, cars, rocks, etc.

Let me tell you two things about this event that bothered me.
1. The amount of overweight people in the country
2. All you can drink. Its quite dangerous to a poor college student and as my friend would tell you, may end in bad night/awkward morning.
I would reccomend two beers I tried while there, that I haven't had before. This one is especially good becasue it tastes like fruity pebbles. Ok. I don't remember that beer. I blame it on the amount i had but i do remember this one being delicious.

Global Warming: One upside for Syracuse

Here's the deal. It's late September and it was 90 degrees today. That is awesome. I mean people still complain about the heat but who friggin cares, it's 90 degrees not -90 degrees. This is huge when it comes to recruitment. Hopefully, one day, we'll be like UMiami and UMiami will be unbearable. It'll give us the edge and Syracuse will be a great school to go to...someday. Until then, the cold will come and it will be flat so any snow that does fall will be utterly useless (unlike say UBoulder). So don't friggin complain about the heat because it's wicked annoying.

Music. Remixed

There are two things i'm excited for right now. The pregame music i just got. The album is called, "Remixes, Volume II." Now you can be like "whoa this orange is way behind on the trends or i have no idea what your talking about." Well Ratatat puts their skills to good use in their rap remixes. More like a mashup than Girl Talk, if you know what i'm talking bout...but
thats how i feel about most trends, there are those people who are always so far ahead of the trend that they love to insult you're lack of trendiness. "i knew about ratatat like 3 years ago" well good for you. i'd rather be on the bandwagon than pulling the fucking thing.
The second thing i'm really excited for is the re-return of JAY-Z. Now, i'm excited for this movie too (American Gangster) and his album is inspired by it. Hopefully we get another "black album quality" record and possibly grey album too?

Apple Picking

If it's fall and the leaves are falling. So naturally, I live for this shit. Now don't be like, Otto you're an Orange, it's like incest or adultery in the form of fruit. This place not only has apples but apple vodka. Have you tried apple vodka? Well neither have i but i can only imagine...if it's half as good as those apple cider donuts then i'm going to have one hell of a friday. Plus there seems to be this pseudo-sickness going around and i do not wanna get that shit. Colds at syracuse are like an Std, they're everywhere you look.

Two for Tuesdays

I'm really hoping for a bar raid soon. I don't care even if i'm at the bar raided in question. The bars are getting way to0 popular with the freshman. Ever since the death of darwins, the greatest syracuse bar to ever live in my time here, things just haven't been the same. Yeah yeah there's "New Maggies" but it's like in a basement. And if i recall, there's already like one "basement bar" per the fact that they're like 10 ft from each other. It breaks the bar etiquette laws of syracuse! (there shall be 1 irish pub, 1 dive bar, 1 faux themed / out of place bar, 1 shameful to be at bar, 1 basement bar). So here I am getting cock blocked out of these amazing drink specials by my inability to approach the bar. Damn freshman don't even know how to buy people drinks. End of story: I should be getting way more boozed up than i am due to the low low prices and wicked large crowds.
So please, freshman, go away or go home or to the mall. Just leave my bars alone.
